The pupil premium is additional funding given to publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers. It was first introduced in April 2011. Since then the amount schools and academies receive has increased.

The funding is granted to children who are registered as eligible for free school meals at any point in the last 6 years. In addition, it can be granted to a pupil who has been looked after for 1 day or more, has been adopted from care, has left care under, a special guardianship order, a residence order or a child arrangement order.

If you believe that your child might be eligible to receive pupil premium funding please contact the office to arrange an appointment to discuss the matter with the Headteacher.

Schools are legally required to publish on their website how they spend their pupil premium funding and the effect this has had on the attainment of the pupils who attract the funding. This will ensure that parents and others are made fully aware of the attainment of pupils covered by the Premium and the extra support that they receive.
